WHAT TO EXPECT
WORD, SACRAMENT, AND SPIRIT
As a church, we worship God in Word, Sacrament, and Spirit.
Our liturgy comes from the ACNA's 2019 Book of Common Prayer. As Anglicans, we place special emphasis on worshipping as Christians have worshipped throughout history. Portions of our liturgy even date back to the early third century! You can read our order of service below.
ORDER OF SERVICE
Song
As a church, we join our voices in singing praises to God.
Scripture
We hear the Word of God read aloud, from the Old Testament, Epistles, Psalms, and the Holy Gospels.
Sermon
We hear the Word of God preached.
Creed
We confess our faith in the words of the Nicene creed.
Confession of Sin and Absolution
Being penitent, we make a confession of sin to our most merciful God and receive absolution.
Passing of the Peace
Before Communion, we first reconcile with each other, greeting one another with a sign of God's peace.
Offering
We cheerfully give back a portion of what God has generously given to us.
Consecration
The bread and wine are prayed over and become Christ's real Body and Blood.
Holy Communion
Holy Communion is the source and summit of the Christian life. All baptized Christians, regardless of denomination, are invited forward to partake of the consecrated bread and wine.
Post-Communion Prayers
We thank God for feeding us with Christ's Body and Blood, receive a blessing, and are sent out to love and serve the Lord
